"Women -- Jewish and Arab alike -- hold immense power in our hands to stop hatred, to live in coexistence, in love, in friendship, in mutual respect, in a world big enough to embrace us all," this message says.
     Dorothy Naor (dor_naor@netvision.net.il) writes from Israel for a Palestinian acquaintance, Amana Abaza, on Thursday, March 7, 2002:

Dear Friends,

     Amina, who has no e-mail at her disposal, asked me on the occasion of International Woman's Day to send her organization's message as widely as possible.

     May the message below echo in our hearts.

All the best,    Dorothy

===========================
     Tomorrow we celebrate International Womens Day.
     Just as you, we carry our babies in our uteruses nine months with the desire to bring them into a world where there is no darkness.
     Just as you, we desire to bring our children into a beautiful world, into a world where there is no hatred, into a world where all people respect one another, into a world of decent living.
     Women -- Jewish and Arab alike -- hold immense power in our hands to stop hatred, to live in coexistence, in love, in friendship, in mutual respect, in a world big enough to embrace us all.
     From the depth of our hearts and from the sincerity of our feelings we call to stop the bloodshed between the two peoples.
     We descend from the same father -- whom you call Abraham, we Ibrahim.  And Abraham loved Isaac as he loved Ishmail.  And he loved Ishmail as he loved Isaac.
     Let us Cousins -- Arab and Jewish women--rise as one body with one soul and stop the needless bloodshed.  Let us call for peace, for dialogue, for mutual understanding.  Enough blood has been uselessly been shed.

With love and affection,

Amana Abaza
