1. The data from all my research was kept in my PC with Personal Ancestral File 2.3, commonly referred to as PAF. This widely used and inexpensive genealogy DOS software comes with very good technical support service. There is more contemporary Windows software now.
2. NoteTool 4.0 software utility vastly improved my ease in adding and editing the "notes" for each individual in PAF.
The DOS PAF 2.3 notes editor is rather awkward.
3. Gen-Book is Rex Clement's wonderful software that takes your PAF data and magically generates a book for you. Using WordPerfect or Word, you can make final text additions and changes, automatically generate a Table of Contents and an Index of names (including women's maiden names!), then print out your final version to send to the printer. Rex is generous with technical support by e-mail or telephone.
