Dear Bay Area Palestinian and Jewish families,

Peace Generation Youth Camp, August 18-22 2002, is an outstanding opportunity for kids of Israeli/Jewish and Palestinian/Arab backgrounds to engage in a wide range of summer camp activities together and build new friendships. The Peace Generation Youth Camp is an unique leadership-building and outdoor education program, sponsored by Hostelling International, with activities focused on:

- leadership and communication skills development
- sharing cultures and building relationships
- exploring and learning about nature

I would like to ask you to spread the word of this camp to kids of age 15-18, who would like to have a fun summer camp experience and a educational experience at the same time. We are seeking several more kids to fill the remaining available spaces for this summer.

ACTIVITIES: Camp activities will include beach trips and nature hikes, sports, outdoor + board games, arts + crafts, team building activities, tide-pool and fauna exploration. The mornings are set aside for education activities that include sharing experiences, developing communication skills and intercultural learning.

LOCATION: The Peace Generation Youth Camp is held at the Point Reyes Youth Hostel, located in a beautiful outdoor setting near San Francisco amid 71,068 acres of national wilderness along the coast. Point Reyes is the perfect location for a serene experience of team building and outdoor activities.

PARTICIPANTS: The camp will consist of 7 Israeli/Jewish kids and 7 Palestinian/Arab kids, with an emotional connection to the Mid East conflict and 6 diverse camp counselors.
